MUA - Makeup Ireland

Some of you might remember I was snapping about a shoot I took part on last month but at the time I couldn’t disclose the details. Sooooooo, it was for the December issue of Stellar mag (one of my faves) with the one and only blond bombshell that is Vogue Williams.

The team for the shoot were fantastic, Katie Keany from The Space in Drumcondra did Vogue’s hair. She created the most gorgeous natural ponytail which is one of my favourite hairstyles. Lovely Linda Conway was the stylist assisted by Sinead O’Reilly.

We got started about 10.30 in Lili Forberg’s gorgeous new studio in Tallaght. The shoot lasted less than three hours. Vogue said it’s always quick when Lili is the photographer because she’s such a pro. She gets all the shots she needs first time round. That’s always a bonus because sometimes shoots can go on all day and everyone starts to get a bit tetchy and tired.

We had four outfits to shoot. Vogue is such a natural in front of the camera. She flew through each outfit and Lili got the shots she wanted in no time. They were obviously really comfortable with eachother so it was seamless.

The pink velour suit for the cover was a little dodgy in my book. Vogue and I reckoned it looked more ‘night-in-in-your-pjs’ than ‘night-out-on-the-tiles’. It looked gorgeous on Vogue but I don’t know if mere mortals like myself could pull it off. I reckon we should leave that one for the models.

I loved the second outfit- the red top from H&M and pink trousers from Topshop. Vogue loved it too and said she’d even consider wearing it on the Late Late for something a little different.

Vogue gave me a lovely little shout out on her blog for Hello! magazine. I love this picture of her, it’s a selfie but I think she looks about 18 in it, little cutie.

You can read everything about the look I did on Vogue here, including all of the products I used to give her my signature ‘golden goddess’ look.

I used the MAC Eyeshadow x 15 warm palette for her eyes, I think everyone needs that palette, it’s such good value €59.50. I use it all the time and I use nearly all the colours in it which is a rarity for me. Usually half the colours are duds and I don’t use them. You can see the eye makeup more clearly in this shot:

I always have the craic working with Vogue and this shoot was no exception.
