How to cover pores and Acne scarring-recognize my model anyone??
My little sister Sophie popped over last week as she generally does when shes going anywhere, ‘Just do my liner will you’ she says, and arrives with not a screed of makeup on! So I decided to take advantage of her gorgeous face and do a little demo on her skin. Sophie has some open pores and is prone to acne and has some acne scarring from outbreaks over the years.
The only secret to this makeup is layering. I always find it better to layer thin layers of foundation than just slapping on a big thick layer to begin with. This just gives a more natural finish and makes it last on the skin for longer.
I used Benefit Porefessional to seal over the pores and leave a lovely smooth base before the foundation. Next I applied MAC Studio Sculpt foundation in NW 20, it’s a really moist foundation so it doesn’t catch in any dry skin patches- which both myself and Sophie often have. I let that set on her face for a while and did her eye makeup. After about 15 minutes I came back to the skin and applied a layer of Smashbox Studio Skin foundation. It is a 15 hour wear moisturising foundation. I used a flat foundation brush MAC #190. The second layer gave me the coverage and finish I wanted. There was no skin discoloration showing through and all pores appeared smooth.
Isn’t she a cutie?
