MUA - Makeup Ireland

When it comes to doing makeup, your tools are so important. You will never achieve a flawless, well blended, diffused makeup without the right tools.

I admit I am guilty of being quite ‘MACified’ by that I mean I use mostly MAC products and my brushes are predominantly MAC brushes. I do think, as a brand, MAC have the industry pretty mush wrapped up. Even though they might not always be the first out with a new type of product, when they bring one out it is usually ‘the business’. I love so many of their products that it’s difficult to break away from MAC. I have yet to find a brand whose brushes rival MACs brushes. So, for the purpose of being objective; I’m trying out lots of new products including makeup brushes!

These are two brushes I have recently bought that stood out to me as really good tools. I did a snap chat post on them recently but I generally save the ones that I think are worth keeping around so the pictures were taken on Snapchat.

The first is from a Real Techniques set, it’s a great little brush with a tight and thin precision tip on it so its great used with concealer for fixing a lip line or untidy eyeliner flick.

The second brush is the E10 by blank canvas, its great for small eyes to use for blending. It’s also good for getting a thinner blend throught the crease line as you drag eyeshadow towards the inner corner of the eye. The only downside so far is that is frays quite a bit, so I wrap a piece of tissue around the bristles while it is drying to keep them in place.
